Dear Friends, “There is no secret ingredient but you“
(From the hollywood movie “Kung Fu Panda“)
As I pen these words now, a feeling of relief and exitement goes through my mind. With hard work, prayers of my parents and wellwishers and blessings of Lord Almighty, I have been able to achieve my dream — a post graduate seat — at one of the best institutes in India.
I would like to share a few words regarding this eventful journey. Having narrowly missed a PG seat through State entrance examination due to indecipherable quota and roster system and thrownaway a PG seat in Manipal University simply because I can't afford the tuition fees, and having missed a PG seat through COMEDK 2009 by just one mark, I made up my mind to be determined and focussed to achieve my goal in the simplest way possible — to go for a good rank that remains immune to all the obstacles — and what I have achieved now has never occurred even in the wildest of my dreams. My parents, my brother and my relatives have been a constant source of encouragement and moral support.
Getting to the point, dental post graduate entrance examination has become more unpredictable in recent years and I got the first hand experience of it when I appeared for the All India Dental PGEE 2009. Shocked at the reality and my preparation level, I decided to up the ante to be in the race. The most important and significant thing which I realised was that solving the previous year's medical papers is equally or sometimes more important as compared to dental papers. It helped me to know and learn about numerous intricate and complicated things in General Medicine, Pathology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Physiology. But to go to that level I should be confident with the dentistry subjects and that's what I got by preparing it during the initial stages of my preparation.
It's not possible to read each and every line from all standard textbooks, but what can be done is having a clarity in basic concepts and reading all the important topics from textbooks. Solving as many MCQs as possible before reading the theory helped me in gaining an insight in what topics and areas importance must be given and in what possible ways questions may be asked. Being clear about the basics helps to save precious time in reading and understanding complicated topics.
Discussing on online forums helps in clearing doubts, knowing some entrirely new things which you may not be familiar with but others may have an idea about or even well versed in them.
As much as working hard, it's equally important to relax and not to lose your cool even in most frustrating circumstances when nothing goes right.
It would be fitting here to thank Dr.Vinayak Senthil, Director, Speed Medical Institute and Dr. Senthil Moorthy, Co-Ordinator of dental faculties and all the faculty members for their constant motivation and inspirational words. I am grateful to my Alma Mater, St. John's Matriculation HSS, Chennai and SRM University, Chennai for being the backbone of my progress throughout my school and college days and to my friends, who always lend a helping hand, motivate me and take pride in my achievements. Last, but never the least, I am grateful to my parents for making me what I am today and my sweet brother who keeps my energy levels always high. Hard work always pays, Later if not sooner.
Wishing you all the best |

Dear Friends, Thanks to Speed faculties who made our job easier to thrive during the preparations. There is hardly eight to nine months for AIPGE. Plan your days accordingly so that you complete all the subjects two months prior to your exams. Have seven to ten days for the major subjects. and two to three days for each of the short subjects. I preferred to read MCQ based theory rather than reading a book all through the day. Along with the past questions read speed materials which will be a blend of past and expected new questions. Read the topics that has been covered in the Speed class and take all the TPT carefully. All these mock test is to make you recall your memory and to predict your guessing sense. Analyse your mark in each TPT and find out whether your guesses have come out good..! So that you will be clear in guessing in the final exams. Remember that even the toppers are not always confident with their answers. Its only the commonsense that gives way finally. In the last two months take out the Asish and Mudit books plan. All the fifteen year papers for rest of the days. Have xerox copies of the OMR answer sheets and try with that. This will help to avoid blunder mistakes that come up with shading.
Time planning is important but don’t pressure yourself with others reading 18+ hrs or so. It’s not the time that all matters but it’s your quality of reading. Sleep for 6 hrs. and have break in between. Before you go to bed recall or discuss all the topics that you have read that day. It helps in two ways. One you will assess how much you remember and other one is you have a confidence that you have not wasted the day and read usefully. Sleep with a sense of satisfaction and start the next day with more joy. Take notes about the facts which you feel you are not sure to remember. Have that notes with you during your travel to the exam. Finally it’s on the day of the exam is the matter. Have a clear mind which is ready to analyse the questions. With eight months preparation it’s easy to rule out two of the options. You will get stuck up with any two. That the problem with everyone. Take risk and guess with presence of mind. And try all the question. There is no point in leaving out any as I did with my NOV AIIMS paper. It’s for sure that you will be in the top list if you attempt all or atmost 295 and avoid blunder mistakes in shading..
Wishing you all the best |

Dear Friends, First and foremost I should thank all the speed faculty for helping me achieve this success.
I began my preparation for entrance exam during internship.Soon after finishing internship,I joined Speed Bangalore. I have attended all the Speed classes and written all the model exams and tpts.
For succeeding in a competitive exam, a student requires exra edge over others writingthe exam. I got this edge by attending the classes and by the study material provided by speed.I found The speed material very useful especially the HBT and paediarics.
The most important thing which determines the success in any exam is how you handle the paper in those 3 or 3 and half hours. In examination hall always be careful to mark the roll number correctly without which your entire preparation is going to be a waste. Be fast and be accurate. You need to read the question number correctly, then read the question, underatand what the examiner is asking, read all the options, recollect what you have studied, eliminate options one by one, select the most appropriate answer and mark it against the correct question number in OMR sheet. All these has to be done in 42 seconds for a question in all india entrance. Writing more and more model exams help you to reduce the Unforced errors like reading the question wrongly or marking the correct answer against the wrong question number, then resulting in a frameshift mutation and more errors.
Remember that the time you spend for entrance exam is an invectment and not a waste. Plan it carefully. Be confident always of yourself because it is that belief in yourself that helps you to keep your head cool and sail through the exam.
I believe it is always necessary to attempt maximum questions in any exam. Suppose you do not know anything about 4 questions and still you attempt them. By law of probability, you are going to get 1 question correct and 3 wrong. In All India, you are going to gain 1 mark and this 1 mark may decide your future. If you can eliminate 1 or 2 options, your probability of getting correct answers are still high.
Wishing you all the best |

Dear Friends,
I'd like to thank The Almighty for giving me something as wonderful as this. Hail the Lord!
I'd also like to thank my family and all my teachers from Speed for their unstinting support and encouragement.
What I am today I owe it to my Alma Mater, Madurai Medical College too. I chose to join Speed after my internship. Speed according to me is a conglomeration of the most brilliant minds in the country. I have met some of the most committed gritty and hardworking people ever right here. There has been no dearth of inspiration and learning has never been so pleasurable.
Our classes in HBT Paediatrics and Pathology made the difference. And so did the basic sciences.Try capitalizing on such high yielding subjects. It is also imperative to read through past papers, Five years of AIPGE and AIIMS.
Whenever you feel a little blue think of how much you've gotten to learn in a span of Six months. You' definitely feel better.
"The secret of Success is Constancy in purpose"
A successful mind works like a gimlet, to the point. Have a vision and success isn't afar.
Work smart. Slogging like there's no tomorrow literally drains you out.
Keep up your good spirits. Spare time for things you've always loved doing.
Feel good. Positive attitudes work like magic and get you closer to your goals.
Never ever get sceptical about your capabilities.
Savour the pleasure of working and you are already a star!
Good luck and Happy reading! |

Dear Friends, First of all, I would like to thank the faculty of Speed for all their guidance in helping me to prepare for the PG Entrance Examinations.
After I completed my MBBS, I first took the USMLE exams. Even though I got good scores, I could not get into the course I wanted. So I felt that it would be better to first apply for a PG Degree in India.
After I started attending the course, I realized that many students were going through the same thing that I was, and collectively were all in the same situation. The fact that there were so many students attending the course made it competitive and it really helped increase the pace of studying. But even with all this, I had my doubts. With thousands of students appearing for these exams, what were the chances of getting a good rank?
But there were many people around me, both at home and outside, who advised me to continue studying as best as I could and they told me that the results would follow. But I still had my doubts. Eventually, they were right. No matter how great the odds, hard work will always be rewarded. The only thing is we have to be patient and diligent.
There are different ways to prepare for entrance exams. Some prefer to solve question banks and concentrate mainly on repeated topics, while others prefer to read all text books right from the beginning. I followed the latter method. Feeling the need to brush up on all subjects, I read all text books as much as I could and followed up with MCQs. Speed has an excellent set of MCQs, both from previous papers as well as fresh questions, to keep up with the trend being followed by examinations which are increasingly asking new questions. It was that system that really helped me in AI 2009, where many questions were new. At the same time, it is also important to make sure that you do not miss any repeat questions as it is a sure way of scoring marks. This is an exam where all questions, no matter how easy or tough, carry equal importance.
Though it is important to get a good rank in PG entrance exams to proceed further in your careers, you should never forget that you are already some of the best students in the country to have come this far. After all, these exams do not reflect your overall knowledge or clinical skills. They only show how well you can handle MCQs in a fixed duration of time. So, do not get disheartened if you fail to make it to a good rank but keep up the pace and try to do your best in every exam. Just remember that there is a PG seat waiting for everyone who has the determination to go and get it.
Wishing you all the best |

Dear Friends, Everything starts with god’s grace and I thank god for making me the deserved one for this position. I started preparing for Entrance Examinations from pre-final year onwards, when I underwent the course in Speed institution. I utilized the ample time I got in pre-final year to equip myself in final year subjects and make myself stronger in basics. Generally I used to note what the next class was about and come a bit prepared. The class will be a kind of reinforcement, which is the basis for long term memory. Most important, you must enjoy reading the subject in depth, and you must make friends and seniors to discuss medicine once in a while. I should very much thank my seniors in that way.
To conclude, always have in mind a definite plan and work all the leisure time for it, and enjoy doing it. Definitely you must work hard for a long time, the earlier you begin, the earlier you reach your dream.
Wishing you all success.
Wishing you all the best |

Dear Friends, First of all I would like to thank the almighty, my parents and all my well wishers without whom my dreams wouldn’t have come true. I convey my special thanks to SPEED MEDICAL INSTITUTE and all its faculties who put in their tremendous efforts in bringing up our knowledge in various subjects. I also thank Dr.Vinayak Senthil and Dr.Rajamurali for their encouragement and moral support during the tough days of our PG entrance preparation.
Regarding preparation, I didn’t do anything special. I studied the theory books which we read during our UG days. The study materials provided by Speed were of immense help during my PG preparation. The monthly exams in All India pattern held by Speed helped me to improvise myself.
It is not the quantity of time but the quality of time you spend towards your preparation that speaks. Relax well in between your studies. Try to attend as many exams as possible.
I hereby take a great privilege to convey you that you are in the right hands where you get excellent coaching for your entrance preparation.
.Wishing you all the best |
